126 physically challenged persons were provided free artificial limbs by Shakarganj. For this purpose, the SAP medical team took the persons to the ICRC, Muzaffarabad and under their supervision, artificial limbs were planted. The programme is aimed at providing more physically challenged persons of Jhang districts with free artificial limbs.

Mobile Free Dispensaries
The healthcare programme was started in 2003 to provide free medical assistance to the rural community. Three teams of doctors and paramedical staff carry out daily visits to differentkissan marakaz established by the Shakarganj Mills Limited for the convenience of the farmers and their families living on the sugarcane route. The medical teams have facilitated 275,186 patients in 9,452 visits to date. Special teams were constituted and sent to the earthquake stricken areas in 2005 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir to provide medical assistance.

Flood Relief Camping
To help victims of the devastating floods in Balochsitan and Sindh in 2007, Shakarganj provided flood relief by setting up sugar distribution camps.
There was heavy flood in river Chenab & Jhelam in District Jhang in 2010 which affected certain areas and thousands of people were affected by flood. They were forced to leave their homes and settled at secured places. Our 03 Mobile Free Dispensaries visited flood affected areas and treated 13,737 patients free of cost

Blood Grouping, Screening & Vaccination
Under the auspices of the Shakarganj Foundation Blood Grouping Screening and Vaccination Programme over 6,020 students, teachers and non-teaching staff have been tested and vaccinated against hepatitis B and C. Furthermore, 6,528 have also received blood-group testing and issued blood-group identification cards.
Disease Detection
A pilot project aimed at tuberculosis detection and cure was launched in 2007 at the Shakarganj kissan marakaz. Farmers and their families are diagnosed through complete blood and sputum tests as well as x-rays. Field motivators regularly visit the patients and encourage them to take their medication for their long-term wellbeing. The programme has been expanded to Shakarganj’s satellite facilities since its inception in early 2007.
Animal Vaccination
25,652 animals have been vaccinated since a drive was launched in March 2008 to immunize animals against Black Quarter (BQ) and Foot and Mouth disease (FMD). Areas covered in the drive include Shorkot, Shah Jewna, Peer Kot and Lou Kariwala.
